Rugby World Cup!!

We are so excited about the rugby world cup!! As a way of making it more fun and personal for us...we all drew out a team and that is who we will support along the way (as well as the All Blacks and other teams).

We are not only going to support that team along the way, we are going to try and find out some information about our country, like where it is, what language they speak, what their flag looks like, what food they eat? If you find out some information about your country, or another one...leave a comment!

Here are the teams we have....

Calendar Art

Over the last week we have been doing our Calendar Art, we spent lots of time getting them ready.  First we traced the animal we wanted to draw, then we coloured them with crayon on the concrete to get the texture, then we dyed them and cut them out.  Lastly we had to do the background, we painted the paper black and used coloured strips to make it colourful.

You can buy diaries, calendars and cards with their artwork printed on it, orders are due back to school by the 15th of September.  They are hanging up in our class if you would like a closer look!

We are very proud of our art and hope we get lots of sales.

Time

This term we are learning about 'time' and 'money' for our maths strand.  On a Friday we do different activities to do with these topics.

Today we were using the clocks to make 'o'clock' and 'half past' times, then we played a game where some of us were the numbers and some of us were the hands.  We had lots of fun!!

At home you could look at the clock with your child, they might even be able to tell you what time it is!

Will and Adheesh make 4 o'clock
Lesleigh and Courtney are making 11 o'clock
Simran and Aidan make 4.30.
