Market Day

We have been working hard for the past 6 weeks to make our pencil holders and decorate our pencils. Finally the day came and we got to have Market Day. Everyone in Room 9 has earned $5 and we got to walk around the school and choose things to spend our money on. We had to make choices about how best to spend our money and we are all really happy with our purchases!

We had three groups, each group had a turn to sell, buy and market our product. It was lots of fun. Have a look at the photos.

Gymnastics!

Today we had our first gymnastics session at Bruce Pullman park. We had lots of fun, and we all really enjoyed the bus trip. Some of the activities we did included walking on the beam, jumping on the trampoline and doing forward rolls.

Chicks!

We were very lucky to have two visits from some little chicks. The first visit we got to see them when they were little babies, then they came back. We can't believe how big they have gotten. After the first visit we used crayons to draw pictures of them. Aren't they cute!

Let's Get Physical!

This term for our topic we have turned into scientists! We have done lots of science experiments and had lots of fun reporting our findings.

For the last couple of weeks we have been looking at floating and sinking. We learnt that things float when they have air in them and some of the things we tested we thought would have sunk, but they actually floated!!

Yesterday we made our own boats and tested them in some water to see if they floated. We had four blocks to put inside and they were our pretend passengers. We wanted our boats to float so the passengers didn't get all wet! Some of us were succesful...have a look at the photos.

Wow, we had so much fun performing in assembly! All the hard work was worth it.

In writing we are learning to add more detail to our stories. We can be successful at this by answering some of these.

Pazia's Birthday!

Today it is Pazia's birthday! She turned six, we have lots of birthdays coming up in the next few weeks. We had cake, it was delicious! Here's what we thought about the cake....

ICT

We are getting so good at using the computers. Each week we go to the Red Room for 45 minutes and work on the computers. We are learning to draw a picture using Kidpix and add a text box. This Thursday we talked about the different ways we come to school and used our skills to draw these awesome pictures!

Term 2

Term 2 has got off to a flying start! We have been busy getting back into our learning routines and sharing some cool stories about the things we did in the holidays! We read a Dr Suess classic "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and had a go at drawing our own fish. We could choose between a standing fish or a swimming fish! We had so much fun painting our fish! Here are the finished products, aren't they awesome!
