Learning Conferences.

We had a busy week last week preparing for our learning conferences.  We went to our buddy class and did a role play to share our learning with them!

We are looking forward to our mum's and dad's coming along this week to talk with them!

Don't forget that on Monday school finishes at 12.30!

PrEP

This term we have been very busy preparing for Market Day.  We made our product - Jolly Jars and made the special things to go inside.  We went through the process of designing and making the products - sometimes we had to change what we did because it didn't work or looked different to what we wanted.

Today was Market Day and we had so much fun!

Fairy Bread

Today we made fairy bread in Room 9.  We are learning to write procedures, in a procedure you have to list the steps to make something.

It is easier for us to do this if we have done the steps ourselves.  Miss Macdonald decided it would be a good (and yummy) thing for us to write our own procedures about. We had lots of fun!

First we talked about what we would need to make the fairy bread and then in buddies discussed what steps we could take.

Famous New Zealanders

In the red room today we had a go at finding out who the famous people are, that are on the $50 note and $100 note for New Zealand.  If you can find out who is on any of the notes - and why, leave a comment and tell us!

Wallwisher

Wallwisher is an online noticeboard.  You can stick a 'post it' on to the wall by simply clicking on the pink tab POST A STICKY.  Post one to record your bedtime and we will use it during maths time.

Assembly

On Friday we performed in assembly.  We all did such a great job - Miss Macdonald was so PROUD of us!!

Building Project at School...

Wow - today Miss Macdonald went into school to get everything all sorted for the term...BUT instead there is big machines everywhere and lots of holes around the school!

The builders and electricians are working hard to get it all ready by the time you return to school!

Rocky Shore trip to the Museum

In the last week of term we went to the museum to have a look at the different exhibits. We got to see some things from the Rocky Shore and had a look at the 'Weird and Wonderful'.

Jump Jam

We have been learning some new jump jam routines- Miss Mac's FAVOURITE one is Choc-o-late! 

Runnnnning...

We did such a great job! Miss Macdonald was SOOOOO proud of us! 

Cross Country

We are busy training for the Piwakawaka Cross Country on Thursday.  If we are year 1 we have to run around twice and year 2s have to run around 3 times.

We were so puffed the first time we tried but now we are getting better and better.  Everyone is very excited about the day.

Remember to come to school in suitable running clothes in your house colour- if you don't have clothes in that colour, get creative!!

We hope lots of parents are able to come and support Room 9!! 

Mimio

This week we have got our mimio up and running.. We have been learning how to hold the pen and write with it. We wrote our names...We think the mimio is pretty cool!

Week 7

Gosh this term is flying by!! Last week was our final week of swimming as it is getting colder now...and we are going to start training for the Piwakawaka Cross Country in Week 9.

We have been working really hard during our learning times and trying to work towards our learning goals.

We are learning to manage ourselves during learning times and here are some examples of us doing that.

We have had so much fun swimming this term. This week is our last week, last week we took some photos in the water to show some of the things we have been learning.

Something new will be posted every week for our friends and family to leave a comment on. It is so exciting when we get comments. If you need some help just ask!

Welcome back to 2012

Hi all,

Welcome back to 2012! I trust everyone had a lovely holiday and is very excited to be getting back into their learning routines.

I am sure you will have a lovely couple of weeks with Mrs Gracie and I look forward to catching up with you all very soon. I will be popping in over the next few weeks to have a talk with everyone and make sure I am ready to take over when my back is feeling better!
